Commercial legislation and maritime law are distinct research subjects.

What the UCC is

The Uniform Commercial Code is a body of commercial rules adopted through state law. It is a joint project of the Uniform Law Commission and American Law Institute. Its articles address subjects such as sales, leases, negotiable instruments, and secured transactions. Read the Uniform Law Commission’s overview.
